Nike's brand lover will probably find this appealing. It's also a clever way to separate themselves from their competition.
The site comes off a little pretentiously—but I'm not hating them for that. I am calling total BS on the "Capitalism takes a back seat." line though. This green initiative exists ONLY to sell more stuff. It's insulting to tell me otherwise.
I do wonder how Nike will respond to inquiries about the rest of their products (the not-so-high-end ones) that are still be manufactured all over Asia. Will the $30 shoes I buy at the Nike Outlet be eco-friendly too?
If they can fix the working conditions in Asia, that produce these shoes, then its a win-win. If not then its all talk.The world isnt perfect, but at lease nike is showing some humanity. Kudos
