Is that Coke ad real?

It's almost a real ad. I don't have a copy of the final.

I figured it wasn't real for the following reasons:

Logo way too small.

No gigantic legal line per Coke requirements.

Improper use of the Dynamic Ribbon device.

Clients are usually reluctant (i.e., they're too cheap) to produce ads with an MLK image, as he's not public domain, and King Center requires royalty payments.

I'm not convinced 100 countries around the world celebrate the day. Heck, some employers in the U.S. don't even give workers the day off.

The final is very close to this I'll share it when I can get my hands on it. Yes there is a totally innovative (read bastardization) of the dynamic ribbon device, how fun.

But here's the rub. The ad ran in a conference brochure and was one of many last minute "African American" ads that somehow get remembered less than a month out from the event and get pushed through the "system" rather quickly.

The legal and copyright were added. And the final copy was tweaked to represent accurate facts.

Rather interesting site you've got here. Thanks the author for it. I like such topics and anything that is connected to them. BTW, why don't you change design :).
