I think these sort of broad stereotypical attitudes are hard wired into the culture. Something to do with their global isolation and their genocide and subsequent marginalization of the indigenous people breeds an "everything else is other" attitude, ergo becoming fodder for an early 20th century mindset. Their ignorance and lack of sensitivity for other people of the world is just who they are. I bet they couldn't give a fuck if anyone were to bring it up to them. If only there was something pertinent in Australian culture for us over here other than koalas (mean little bastards), kangaroos and the rape of aboriginal people. Hey, fuck 'em. A country bred of criminals and other country's trash.
