Vote for GlobalHue!!

It's a city in crisis – but with potential for a big comeback. Despite an ailing auto industry and the highest jobless rate in the nation, Detroiters are determined to make their hometown thrive once again. For the next year, CNNMoney will focus on that challenge. GlobalHue is pitching in to help bring creatives to Detroit. It's Mo-Town people! That's where so much creative & musical genius was born. Vote for the best campaign.

Do it now, do it often.

Interesting that arts and music are the first thing to go, but then when a city needs reviving, they look for creatives...Cleveland is worried about "brain drain" and the loss of hip young people...but seems to be going more bio-tech, tech to some extent, and health care...not exactly the way attract the young and hip (we do have a beautiful areas centered on arts and culture though...) Anyhow, I think I'll check out the website mentioned. And see what this "creatives" thing is all about.

Oh, I also used to live in the D for a little while so it has a place in my heart...it's definitely a city with heart so I'd like to see it reborn.

Jennifer, you have the best things to say. I think Detroit is an interesting opp for African Americans and any body else. "A blank canvas." Wouldn't it be neat to see it jump off as the green economy engine of America?

i also have a special place in my heart for Detroit, having grown up on Eight Mile. i cringe when people's criticism of the city turns into a racist one. i notice that white people fail to make the distinction that high poverty areas are prone to crime. because white people are privileged, those areas are generally more populated by POC. but white people generally skip the class factor and go right to race. it is very frustrating.
