I'm not exactly happy with this new thing either. They tried to run the last one into the ground and "proactively" render it "played out." I think it still had more legs. I predict they are gonna kinda waffle around for a while before regaining their sea legs. * whistling jingle*
It's not the solution, but it's a funny, and I think probably effective, addition to the Old Spice guy-doing-odd-things stable. It's going to appeal to a much smaller audience—if you don't know who Ray Lewis is, you'll miss the humor. But to the folks sitting around watching football all weekend, this will be in keeping with the overall tone this brand has set.
Great point Lee. It is football season!!! And that is a very specific audience. I do still think it's kooky. Not kooky-funny like ESPN advertising, this is kooky-wierd. But it may go over well.
