Young Jeezy - Circulate - Behind The Scenes

Here's more of the music business flirting with the idea of a solemn marriage with advertising. As I said before music is homeless. Advertising on the other hand has more homes than John McCain to live in both online and off the internets. All music is soon to be released directly to corporations for mass consumption. https://sites.google.com/site/mayuradocs/PinIt.png

i am just not sure how i feel about this. i question it's authenticity and, we know, that's what hip hop is all about. i also have negative emotions around seeing the belvedere brand support the selling of the black female body. and lastly, although i love seeing how barack has changed things to the point where black people now carry flags (that's incredible) but i struggle with attaching that flag (which now represents a new america) to hip hop given that hip hop represents so much negativity for black america (violence, destruction, drugs, thugged out being the only representation of black masculinity, etc). i want my new flag to coincide with a new portrayal of black america.

detavio5, well stated! It is a new for the black man. It's time for us to assume complete responsibility for our words and deeds. This is ,ore a commentary on where music is headed. I hoped it would lead to greater freedom, it may mean more corporate control.

I agree with everything you guys said but Young Jeezy exploiting his music for the sake of a commercial is nothing new. Chris brown made a 1# song on the charts and then confessed to everyone that the song was created as a wrigley gum jingle. Musician going into advertising is just a sign of the times unfortunately. a lot of other media formats are going to be begging for ad money. Labels are going broke while advertisers still have money to spend.
